Kenyon Hall Farm
Award-winning Kenyon Hall Farm is one of Manchester’s best farm shops, so it goes without saying that their pumpkin patch is one of the finest around. They’ve been slinging pumpkins for over 30 years now, with more than 15,000 grown on the farm this year.
It’s always popular so you’ll have to be quick to avoid missing out, but bag a ticket and you’ll get to choose from over 70 different types of pumpkin. After you’ve picked your new friend, be sure to have a wander around the farm shop and grab a bite from the cafe – the pumpkin soup is divine.

Ash Farm, Dunham Massey
Ash Farm is the home of Dunham Massey Ice Cream, but when October rolls around they turn their attention to pumpkins. They’ve planted over 30,000 of them for you to pick, and they come in all shapes, colours and sizes – we love the adorable mini ones.
Pumpkins are priced from £1 to £10, and you’ll find street food options on-site so you can grab homemade pizzas, paninis and those all-important PSLs. It’s dog-friendly too, so you can bring the pooch – bonus points for doggy costumes!

Grange Farm, Lowton
Situated in leafy Lowton, Grange Farm is a popular choice for pumpkin picking, and their annual festival is back and bigger than ever this year. Grab a ticket and you’ll get full entry to the farm and festival grounds, complete with fairground rides, spooky maze and a farm animal meet and greet.
You’ll find thousands of pumpkins to fill your wheelbarrow with, with photo props and seasonal backgrounds along the way. Make a pitstop at The Barn Restaurant before you leave – visit on a Sunday and you can even snaffle a top-tier roast dinner.

Reddish Vale Farm
Stockport’s Reddish Vale Farm has pulled out all the stops with their Halloween Festival, making it one of the best places to pick pumpkins with the family. They even host special Moonlight Pumpkin Evenings, complete with fire shows and spooky walks!
Peruse the patch to find the perfect pumpkin, then head to the Carving Cavern to create your very own ghoulish masterpiece. After that, you can take part in Halloween-themed games, join the professor for potion making or hitch a ride on the Spooky Express!

Tatton Park Farm
Tatton Park has plenty to offer during Halloween-time, and head to their farm during October and you’ll be able to take part in pumpkin picking. Just over half an hour’s drive from central Manchester, it’s well worth the trip, especially on a crisp autumn day.
You’ll have to get a farm ticket to explore the pumpkin patch, but that means you can meet the farm’s resident animals before rolling up your sleeves and getting to work finding your perfect pumpkin. Be prepared to get muddy, and remember your waterproofs – this is Manchester, after all.

Lancaster Park & Animal Farm
Visit Lancaster Park & Animal Farm’s pumpkin patch in North Manchester and you can turn it into a whole day out. Not only can you pick from thousands of colourful pumpkins, you can also take part in Halloween fun and meet plenty of cute critters.
You can pick and carve your pumpkins on-site, take a trip to wizard school and do the skeleton shake at the Halloween disco, with prizes for the best dressed. There’s also a petting zoo, pirate shootout, mini quad bikes and more – the kids won’t forget this one in a hurry.

Over in Ashton, Cockfields Farm is hosting a huge Halloween party at their pumpkin patch. You’ll find thousands of pumpkins in the main patch, alongside spooktacular decorations, while the mini patch offers plenty of quieter fun midweek – perfect for your little ones to enjoy while the big pumpkins are at school.
Away from the patch, there’s a haunted hayride, indoor and outdoor play areas and plenty of opportunities to get up close with goats, rabbits, reptiles and more. With a free pumpkin included with every ticket, it’s one of the best places to pick pumpkins in Manchester.
